FUP is about eight weeks away and FUPleaders are busy putting together worksites, and panels and creating fun and new ways to introduce you to Harvard! Our leaders care passionately about creating change and about building a strong FUP community; for many of our leaders FUP is where they discovered new friends and new ways of thinking of the world.  Therefore be prepared for lots of laughs, thoughtful conversation and opportunities to connect with some of best leaders in Boston and Cambridge.  Please follow us at #fupstagram to keep up with us! Even though we are about to go on winter break, we are planning for August 2023--- when we get to meet all of you!  Once you are done celebrating, and start thinking about life at Harvard, please consider joining the First Year Urban Program.  The heart of FUP is community;  the community created between participants and with our host sites.  Since 1984, FUP has been transforming the lives of incoming students with a program of service, dialogue, as well as lip sync battles and scavenger hunts. In 2023, FUP will take place from August 24th-August 29th-- hope to see you then!

FUP 2022

September 1, 2022
FUP 2022 is a wrap!  For the first time since 2019, we were live and in person serving twelve amazing organizations in Boston and Cambridge.  It was fantastic to be able to introduce the Class of 2026 to the  activists and leaders who are responsible for making City of Boston and City of Cambridge world class cities for living and learning.  This year we served:  Asian American Resource Workshop, Black & Pink, Central Square Business Improvement District, Chinese Progressive Association, Chinatown Land Trust, Community Response to Exreme Weather (CREW), Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, MassVoter Table, The Mather School, Spare Change, and VietAid. Thank you to our panelists from the Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance, Greenroots, Harvard Dining Hall Worker's Union and the Harvard Graduate Student Union and Harvard's Memorial Church for sharing your experiences and knowledge with us. Here's to an amazing year filled with solidarity and justice!

Congratulations Class of 2026

We are so excited to meet you!  If you are coming for Visitas, we will be at the activities fair--stop by to meet the FUPleaders and learn all about FUP2022. Learn about how FUP integrates opportunties to work with and learn from community activists and non-profit leaders while also learning how to navigate Harvard.

Since 1984, participants have credited FUP with providing a sense of community past orientation, as well as a safe environment in which to challenge one's perspective and learn how to navigate the Harvard experience. Apply to FUP!  Applications will be open available in mid-May.

Are you applying to FUP?

May 25, 2021
The applications for pre-orientation programs are ou!  This year FUP will be held from August 12-16th; yes over a weekend! Since 1984, FUP has been a transformational experience for first year students; an introduction to Harvard and an opportunity to join a community at Harvard that is dedicated to making the world and Harvard the best it can be. We look forward to meeting you!
